“Care for Wild animals”
The Reception class had trip on 11th May 2018 to the Lilongwe Wild Life Centre.
They started off at 8:15 am after registration and were there at around 8:30 am. Upon reaching the place they were welcomed by Howard, the tour guide. He then took them to various places.
The play ground where they had fun on the swings and on the slide.
They saw an owl.
The Crocodiles.(two of them Sheila and Bush dog and were told that the Crocodiles are given meat as their food).
The monkeys like Velvets which can live up to 40 years. They are being cared for by giving them meat and fruits. Howard also told them that Bamboons can stay up to 25 years.
The Vet Clinic where sick animals are being cared for if they fall sick.
Henry, the python. And learnt that the python eat one chicken a week.
The tour guide also explained the following to the Learners: Threats to Wild animals, Wildlife trade, bush meat trade and Habitat loss.
