The Junior section at Mount Sinai International School follows the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum; this is so because Mount Sinai International School admits students from various nationalities with different cultural and religion backgrounds. The syllabus is rigorous, practical and fun. This helps children to increase their knowledge, develop their cognitive skills and understanding. It has been established to contribute towards their personal development.
The CIE curriculum is meant to enhance and facilitate integration of students into different contexts and countries while accompanying parents on international assignments. The department is manned by thirteen professional teachers and four assistant teachers. The primary department starts from Reception class to Standard 6. The dedicated team of staff work hard to provide a stimulating learning environment. All this is aimed at building a child to grow into an independent responsible citizen.
The Mount Sinai School calendar year starts in September and ends in July the following year. The curriculum is broad and one of the highlights for this academic year has been on the 3rd 0f December 2010 when parents were entertained to one of the most exciting and interesting Christmas performances, the pageant. Students from the Middle and Junior school of primary level showcased their skills in drama and music. It is also interesting to note that aerobics and karate are some of the popular activities amongst students the primary school.
Teachers strive to impart all the necessary skills and knowledge to students, as it is the wish of every professional teacher to witness success of every student he or she teaches. This success can only be achieved if there is mutual partnership between parents and teachers.
I wish to express my gratitude to parents and guardians for their continued support in all activities that required their contributions and input. We will continue, as always, to do our best to advance the interests of these future leaders.
